I like this poem very much. Taut, tight, as it should be for the subject matter. I am one who lives near the city of coyotes, angels and thugs, so this poem speaks to me. I just visited the poet's Goblin Farms website, but it seems to not have been updated since 2023....still, it's worth a visit.
What a great poem. I am in L.A. too, and thanks to this poem, I have a new found appreciation for our mayor. Does anyone know how much longer we are going to be militarized? Next stop - Goblin Farms .
Tricia L. Somers, I heard on the news last night that the number of National Guard troops in LA will be cut in half but the Marines are staying. (Haven't looked at news yet today.)
My apologies to Lynda and our readers for sending out her poem with a title I invented. I didn’t realize till I heard from the poet that July 8 was not just a dateline, but the intended title.
“Be furious. Be thunder.” Yes! So should we all be.
